It's a pretty good show. Gets a lot of flak for its annoying fanbase though.

The first season was great. (Minus the "Oh, hello there person I won't ever see again after this episode! :D") The second fell apart real fast, imo.

Even though the following seasons would be shit, I'd still watch them. I'd rather have bad seasons than no seasons when it's this anime :)

Ugh, let me be the first to say that I really don't like this anime. I thought I could keep watching through the bad parts but episode 10 is where I draw the fucking line. If the so-called "good" arc of the anime is like this, then I don't even want to know what the "bad" arc is like.

I suppose you're not really a fan of RPGs

What I'm not a fan of is ridiculous pacing, a large amount of filler characters who do almost nothing to contribute to the overall plot, and skipping serious and important events for fan service, all in one anime.

It'd be worse without those filler characters though, then it wouldn't look like an mmo.

There are better ways of introducing how life in the MMO is besides meeting, rescuing, and helping bland cute girls who supposedly never show up again in the anime.

I've watched the anime while reading the light novel.. the novels are pretty good.. I got to book 9 before hitting a point where it just felt drawn out and I didn't want to resume. But eh..
