CRIMSON MOON: ANGELUS

Hey and welcome to Crimson Moon: Angelus, here I will give you a brief overview of the history of the roleplay and then the current situation.

The planet known as Luneta created by those known only as "the creators", a group of beings who act as gods to those that inhabit the planet, watching the events that unfold on the planet from a distance. Making a strict rule never to interfere unless their aid is of dire importance.

For a time, the humans that inhabited Luneta progressed through their stages of life without posing much of a threat to themselves or each other, they advanced in technology at a slow but noticeable pace. But it was only until they discovered the destructive power that each human held within their hearts that they began to war among each other, killing, destroying and bringing down that which they had created themselves. The creators knew this would happen eventually, but they did not prepare for such an event, hoping to themselves that this would never happen.

So they decided to give the humans the wisdom of the gods, hoping that this power of divinity may allow them to see that there is more than destruction in the world. The creator known as Ankross descended from the skies, parting the very clouds with his divine presence, the humans all looked up and witnessed the very being that had created them, dropping their weapons in awe. As Ankross looked from above the ensuing battlefield, he raised out his hand and from it a blinding light had enveloped the entire world. When the humans came back into consciousness, they realized that they were no longer the same, that they had been given a gift.

One of the humans raised out his hand to hard ground to pick himself up, and in his hands wake, plant life sprung out. They had been given the gift to give life, to protect life. This became known as Magic. For thousands of years the humans lived peacefully, generation through generation, the gift of magic had enlightened them and although it could not prevent death of humans themselves, it showed them all that the Gods were watching over them, proof of divine presence. However all was not well in the plane of the creators, one angel stood up to the highest ranking creator known as Ajima and insisted that even though the humans have been given their gift, it would not fill the hole in their hearts, and eventually they would turn to violence and self-destruction yet again.

This unnamed angel threw down his sword at the presence of Ajima and vowed that he would go down to earth and slaughter the humans before they did so themselves. However Ajima was displeased at this, and the angel was banished to Earth, to live as a human, born from the womb of a woman just like them and to live out his days as one of them as punishment for his hatred.(However this is the story that was handed down by the churches, is this what really happened?)
(click to show/hide)The world of Luneta is split into four regions. The regions are as follows: Natharia, Tamathy, Castar and Panfona.

Natharia and Tamathy are part of the same land mass, which is also the biggest piece of land in all of Luneta. The land mass is somewhat shaped like a huge oval, though with the sides more exaggerated and -non-symmetrical. The west of the oval shape is longer but has less width than the east side. Natharia takes its place on the west side, though its territory doesn't quite reach to the middle of the oval, in fact the majority of the land mass is Tamathy territory. Around the east however there are many small islands and small landmasses dotted around in the sea.

To the south east of the huge land mass is the small remote region of Castar, it is heavily isolated by  thousands of miles of water. Castar is shaped similar to a crescent moon, however with the bottom more longer than the top and the middle gap a little more filled in.

Then finally to the north of the huge land mass is Panfona, it is not as isolated as Castar as it is reachable from the land mass by only day trip by boat, so the gap between the land mass and Panfona is quite small. Panfona is shaped like an arched bridge, however with the top elongated and the two tips shredded with countless little tendrils spewing off into different directions in the forms of little island landmasses. Throughout the landmass of Panfona, the edges are not smooth and it is common to see parts of it breaking off and forming islands, quite a fractured and beaten region.

Natharia is dotted with small settlements and farmlands, it is well known for its grasslands and small mountain ranges. You could say its a place where humans have little effect on the landscape, though nature doesn't run free and wild, its more like humans and nature live together in harmony.
However Natharia is well known for its mines that harvest the finest metal, there are more mining areas in Natharia than in any other region and this makes the region a common resource spot.
Natharia normally trades its metal ore to Tamathy, which Tamathy usually exploits by paying a low price for it and selling high, which could be the reason why Natharia is still rather underdeveloped.

Tamathy, which covers most of the landmass, is the most advanced region in Luneta. It contains the most cities and the most settlements, which in turn covers most of its territory. Due to this, most of its soil has become unsuitable for extensive farming and its very few mountains and rocky areas means that finding metal ore is quite the task, meaning that Tamathy relies heavily on Natharia for its resources. The resources it gains from Natharia it sells also to Castar for its rare materials, such as rare herbs like Pondergrass. Tamathy sustains itself through trading, the money it makes through trading and profit means it can spend more time inventing and advancing in both magic and technology. However, due to its exploiting nature, Tamathy has made quite a few enemies and has received war threats from Natharia on numerous occasions.

Castar is debatably the most underdeveloped region in Luneta, as it is pretty much like one big rainforest, the only parts that do not have trees are where the humans settle themselves. Even then the settlements are very primitive, things like wooden shacks and straw huts. The tribes within Castar trade with Tamathy, they buy weapons made from the metal ore from Natharia, in order to fend of the many dangerous beasts that inhabit the region. The beasts that make their home in Castar are among the most dangerous, ranging from dragons to golems. However, Magic is used more frequently in Castar, as it is normally their main means of survival, thus you will find that the magic group known as “Summoners” originated from Castar.
Not much can be said about Castar apart from the fact it is rich in wildlife. Rainforests, mountains, lots of rivers. However, unlike Natharia, in Castar it is nature that dominates.

Lastly, Panfona is a desolate, uninhabitable region. It is a snowy region that is blitzed by 24/7 snow storms and other natural disasters, nobody knows how this came to be as Panfona was once home to an ancient civilization that was once claimed as the most advanced. Their technology was able to create things such as “metal men” and “flying ships”. But now it is home to nothing but monsters that have adapted to it conditions.
You will find nothing but huge mountains covered in snow, and old metal cities falling below the ice. The sea around Panfona is also dangerous, it is known for its constant storms.
Current situation:After the last confrontation with the man known as Darka, the team were defeated with little effort, however they were saved by a strange light that collided with the black magic (darkness) that Darka commanded and created the "White-Flash" event. The team then woke up in Tamathy Castle, where they quickly realized that they were no longer the same as they now command elemental magic, similar to those commanded by Darka with his Black Magic. Askardi wielding Fire, Melodia and Nemmy wielding Wind, Vagus wielding Electricity and Koel wielding Earth.
Koel and Melodia now lay in the Inn.

Meanwhile, Rosalind and Sam infiltrate the treasure room in Tamathy Castle

Where Askardi is now on the upper level, heading back to his room in Tamathy Castle.

While Vagus is locked in conflict with General Krux in the visitors area.

The Health bar displays how much damage your character can take before they die, the Stamina Bar displays how much energy your character has, energy depletes every time you attack. And the amount it depletes depends on how hard and how frequently you attack.The objective of battle is to put the enemy on 0/200.When you use an attack your Stamina will go down determined on the intensity of the attack,the lowest being 1% loss and the highest being 20% loss (within one turn),once you have lost all Stamina you will go into state of "Weakness" were you will take double the damage you normally would so it is vital that you decide on the correct amount of attacks and the correct intensity of the attacks to use before you go into a state of weakness and become a liability to you and your team.Now you may be wondering how you would gauge what is a strong attack and what is a weak attack, well I shall provide an example.So lets say I posted "Jack runs upto the opponent and slashes once, then jumps back into defensive stance." I would consider it rather mild in intensity,and I aimed it at an enemy this would happen to the enemy.

But what if it was a strong attack, and I posted "Jack dashes towards the enemy at lightning fast speed, slashing constantly, then kicking the opponent into the air and casting fire magic to burn the enemy as they fall back down". I would consider that fairly strong, and this would happen....

Of course that is only a single attack, and you can attack upto 3 times in a single turn. Though remember the more times you attack the more stamina you lose, make sure that its worth it before taking the action. Some enemies can execute special moves if one character in the team is inflicted with "Weakness".
The amount of damage dealt and stamina deducted will be chosen determined via number randomizer. And no favor of any player will come into the judgement of the battle calculations. The default damage cap of 20 may be raised through the purchase of weapon upgrades and the minimum damage dealt may be raised in the same way.
 But by now you probably have a good idea of how fighting works in Angelus. Now I shall show you the battle turns. Though this may be pretty obvious by now, its better to get it out of the way.
Battle Phases
During the course of a battle there will be Phases,Your teams battle phase and the enemies battle phases.A phase is simply where all members from a team post their attacks,then once every team member has posted once they end their phase thus bringing about the enemies phase in which they get to fight and then ending their turn and so on. Like this

....and so on and so forth until a team is defeated.
Boons and BurdensNow that stats and turns are covered I would like to explain the facts of boons and burdens.Boons are the stat boosts that are offered by Magic,and in some rare cases equipment and armour but those types are for enemies strictly only.Burdens are the stat decreases inflicted by certain types of attacks,attacks that have burden properties may not cause damage but only the burden that it offers.When a boon or burden has been initiated it will show on the stat results at the end of your teams phase if its a boon or if its a burden then it will appear on the enemies stat result phase.Here is an example of a boon,lets say I have used a White Magic that boosts strength and defense of player (in this example it will be Player B and the Caster will be Player C), the stat reduction screen will look like this afterwards.

Player A= 200/200 and 100%
Player B= 200/200 and 100% (Strength,Defence Boost)
Player C= 200/200 and 83%

Player B will then get a boost in strength and defence meaning he will do more damage with his attacks and magic, and this will not affect how much stamina Player B gets deducted by using attacks regardless of the increase. Also Player B will take less damage to his Health Points.Bear in mind all boons must wear off after a while and depending on how long the boon lasts determines on how much Stamina Player C would lose due to the high intensity of the Magic.Okay here is an example of a burden,lets say I cast Black Magic which decreases Defence stat (Player B will be the target for this),the enemies stat reduction screen will look like this afterwards.

Player A= 200/200 and 100%
Player B= 200/200 and 100% (Defence loss)
Player C= 200/200 and 100%

Note that burdens cause no actual damage,but now that the defence stat has been reduced it means that the enemy will take more damage without the need for more Stamina to be used up,this wastes one of your attacks but also helps your team members dig deep into the enemy.So its clear that Black Magic is used for burdens,White Magic is used for boons. However I must say this now, Boons and Burdens are initiated differently to normal attacks and magic. You have to give the Boon or Burden a name when casting it and highlight it in bold. So lets say I wanted to cast a boon, I would call it "A friend in need" (lame name but yanno)... it would need to be posted like this "a friend in need" and you write the effect you desire after it.
Okay that should be it for the basic style of the battle system. Other rules will be implemented during the course of the RP, but don't worry, they wont be complicated or anything.
Okay so here is the RP character sheet and a description of it.

Class: (The class is basically what your character is,and what he/she specialises in.e.g Swordmaster- Wields the blade with expert skill,he slices his enemies apart and leaves only the blood of his enemy as a trophy)

Weapon:(Your characters Weapon, due to Angelus being set in a rather rural world, it has yet to develop things like compact projectile weaponry. So swords, spears and other melee weapons are preferred. Though bow and arrow, and crossbows are allowed. But try and be inventive regardless)

Equipment:(What your Character has besides his/her weapon,most likely a protective armour,or cloak,or you can stray away from that and choose a protective pendant)

Magic: (everyone at the start will be able to cast White magic, though at the moment it will just be called "Magic" since Black magic hasnt currently been discovered. But during the course of the adventure black magic will become available to you, but you are only allowed one element to wield. And that element will be yours to use in your attacks. So in this section you would type what element you wish to control, if you need examples it could be: Fire, Ice, Water, Lightning, Earth, Wind ect)

Class: Dual Archery - Is able to wield dual bow and arrow weapons and is very nimble with extended range, however is very fragile.

Weapon: Signature Pair of Klass Full Auto Crossbows - Nemmy's default crossbows that she has used ever since her journey has started.

Equipment: Lotor Cloak - A cloak made from dragon scales and is able to give Nemmy a turnaround in terms of attack and defense, but only for a limited time.

Magic: Wind - The power of the winged beasts is within Nemmy, giving her basic wind powers.

Other Info: Nammy has been part of a hidden organization all of her life which consists of conspiracies spread around the world. Nammy's job is to rid her enemies from retrieving any plans her boss has cooked up. Other than that, she is a rebel that doesn't play by any rules, even if they were given towards her. She does as she pleases, how she does it, and has no time for lingering around with anyone else as she works alone.

Class: Earth Raver- With sword in hand, this warrior cleaves his enemies in two with his brute strength coupled with his heavy custom sword. Slow moving but hard hitting.
Weapon: Petram Breaker- Koel's custom blade, made using various metals and forged by someone dear to him. This blade is only as good as the person wielding it.
Equipment: Rusted armor- Armor that has seen its fair share of battles, each notch in the metal tells a different story. Even due to its history, its still combat worthy.
Magic: Power over the element of Earth

Other Info: Ever since his parents death Koel has been wandering the world, not knowing what he is searching for.
