"Zelda's Curse" and other stuff.
« on: May 31, 2016, 12:49:25 PM »
So I got a new windows phone and tried to import my gba save data and this happened:

(click to show/hide)

I am cursed to never complete a zelda game.

and also:
(click to show/hide)
How do I get rid of the black border that appears in the corner while playing games?

and finally, game suggestions?

It would help to mention which phone you got and which emulator app you're using.

Also, speaking from experience, getting a windows phone is a huge mistake.

Recommendations: Final Fantasy 6, Metroid Fusion & Zero Mission, Golden Sun, Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, Fire Emblem

Actually I just realized, since you're playing using a touch screen, Metroid and Castlevania would be really annoying to play.

I dunno the phone model. How do I check? As for the app I used gpcsp on my symbian and use vba10 on the new phone.

Ya I know. The amount of apps are scarce...and even the ones that are there don't seem to be maintained properly. But I did get it as a gift from my uncle and I can't afford one on my own so I'm not complaining.

Well, I meant phone game recommendations in general. But thanks for the suggestions anyways.

ya, I tried to play shantae and it's almost impossible to play without abusing the save state function.

Also, no solution for the black border problem?

Hrm, I think that the encoding of the save file is different on both emulators. -> So, it can't be read on your phone.

Yet, I managed to get my tactics ogre save file working without any trouble.

Honestly, I'm beginning to think my problem with Zelda is on a supernatural level. I played A link to the past and Wind Waker multiple times but couldn't finish either because of some catastrophe like save file corruption, accidental deletion of data or my external hard disk internally exploding.

Oh well, while we're at it some Playstation 1 game suggestions? I'd prefer rpgs. The problem is that there are wayyy to many games to choose from for the ps1.
I was thinking maybe Breath of fire 3 or 2 and Vagrant story.maybe?

Oh sorry, since you mentioned GBA I thought you wanted GBA suggestions. I never gamed on my old windows phone because there weren't any games I was interested in, so I don't have a solution to the black border problem either. =/

As for PS1 RPGs, Breath of Fire 3 is great. I haven't played 2 but 4 is also great. I only played a bit of Vagrant Story but it seemed pretty cool.

A few other RPGs I'd recommend are Suikoden 1 & 2, Legend of Mana, Chrono Cross, Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure, Digimon World 3, and I guess the Final Fantasy games if you haven't played any of them. My favorite is 9.

If you had to choose between Bof 3 and 4. Which one would you suggest ?
Also there's seriously too many options for rpgs on the ps1. I never even heard of Rhapsody before. I wonder if I'd ever interact with a human being if I actually had a ps1 as a kid.

Save states are then sooooo useful :)

TBH when I saw the title I thought this would be creepypasta stuff.
Maybe I should pay more attention to the sections

Ya, sometimes I end up creating rather click-baity titles.

It's pretty close, but I guess Breath of Fire 3 was more enjoyable for me.

Dude, I got so much mileage out of my PS1 back when I was a kid. I pretty much lived off of PS1 RPGs back then.

Well, time to find out if it works or not.

Also interestingly, I remember playing Breath of Fire 1 as a kid and at a certain point in the game you could rename your characters. I renamed Nina to Fire. And just now found out the meaning of Nina is Fire.
Damn younger Priom was psychic.

only PS1 RPG I ever really played on a physical PS1 was Final Fantasy VII. I was too young to get invested in RPGs at that time. I've played plenty of them through emulation, though.
