I think we need to ask ourselves, did we listen to our parents stories with the utmost interest? lol

I can honestly say no, but I'd love to have a child who was into anime, games and porn. Oh the fun we'd have.

Just the other month I had a nervous breakdown due to stress, anxiety and depression. Luckily my mom was visiting us that week. (my mom lives in Baltimore for her work, while I live in Chicago with my brothers and grandma). She revealed to me the story of my birth father. (8 years ago, I discovered that my brothers were actually only my half-brothers and that my real father had abandoned me before I was even born) Long story short, she told me how she had a promising career as a singer, how she fell into the wrong crowd, the time when she realized she was pregnant with me, her being torn about having to abort me or not, and her firm decision to have me and raise me, and all the sacrifices she had to make and the criticisms she had to endure being a single unwed mom in a VERY Catholic and judgmental family.

To be fair, thats a pretty interesting story even for someone who isn't related to the mother.

But most family stories aren't that eventful and are just rather simple, but simple is good! Just not gripping to a 10 year old child who would much rather play Super Mega Mario Kart 4000!
