Pow News: Evidence of earliest use of fire!
« on: April 03, 2012, 07:25:01 PM »
Since the discovery of fire is such a crucial part of human history and has been theorized as "the missing link" in evolution from ape to man, it is safe to say that this new finding sheds more light on the dark part of our history.
In Wonderwerk cave in South Africa, ash and bone fragments were found that suggest that "controlled fires" were lit on the site. Stone tools were also found which suggest that it was indeed created by possibly a homo erectus, or later in the human evolutionary step.
Most claim that fire was discovered even before this, however the evidence for those claims are normally in open areas where the possibility of lighting could have ignite the flames, and not humanoid hands. Since this is in a cave, it is more secure and subject to less interferences between man and fire.
So what do you think about all of this?
