Pc improvement
« on: June 20, 2012, 07:25:23 PM »
Okay so I'm gonna buy a new processor but before that some qs:
I practically want my computer to be good enough for dolphin to be less laggy wii emulator. But also I want pcsx2 to work perfectly and wanna play some mordern pc games (namely assasin's creed)
so my processor would be 2.0ghz but which one should I get? 4.0 or higher?can you name it?

Does it take a good graphics card to make games less laggy?(i have the 4 chipset thingy)

Is it possible some games will not run on my system due to the sound type?(as in Tears to Tiara)
Does changing sound card also change sound type?(if above q is yes)

does it matter that I'm using the vista?does it make my games laggy?

Does it matter if I have 64/32 bit?(i have 32 bit)

I would be more than greatfull for some answers

An Intel i5 or i7 should work very well.

Dunno about the 4 chipset thingy but a good graphics card is very important for newer games. Some games won't run properly or not at all.
If your graphics card is still fairly recent, you could try updating the driver. Otherwise you'll have to buy a new one.

Vista is very bad for games, it's worse than XP.

Does it matter if I have 64/32 bit?(i have 32 bit)
It's better to have 64-bit for some games coming out this year and most games next year.

I would be more than greatfull for some answers
Grateful*

Well pcsx2 doesn't have a 64 bit version. It does now however use multithreads in the speedhacks of the latest SVN versions, I have a 2.2 quad core and most games play full speed.
All dolphin games I've tried play full speed too.

Oh yeah, silly me. Only played GC games on it, I have a Wii, and my GC games are ....well.....not on disk ;)
You need a decent graphics card I hear, mine is probably lowest spec to play them full speed, its an nvidia 8600GT. I don't know too much about it though.

Okay so I'm definitely either getting 2 quad or i7

Need to be sure if the 4 chipset family is worthy or should I change it?

Also sound cards are software right?

i7 has quadcore and hexacore versions. But the second is pretty expensive I think.

I think you'd have to do it yourself if you wanted to. And it probably won't fit. XD
