post count hardly even matters, I barely look at mine, but I guess some members compete over more posts so....

What might th critiria be for the member groups?

I suppose that I can be blamed for post hunting Ii guess...... but I do try to make everypost something relevant. The rankings though, as I said before, I dont really care for ranks r not. But Pews arguement still stands that some people post for the thrill of getting the new rank they shoot for...

I agree that emocon only replys are not good. I myself can be blamed for 7-15 cases and i wont be hypocryticalsaying that its horrible. Bur again. I try tp keep things relevent. Although all the food threads could easily be put into the random bar. The post hunting is all in the general discussion and the MS / MSR thread boards. The general discussion threads can be argueable to be in the wrong category. While my large post count is because I ask alot of questios withen those two sections. A good portion of the most ctiv membera post counts come fromm thpse catergories. myself included. but even there i try to ake relevant questions.

My 1000qs toTyran were primarily in large increments becaus i didnt want all of thse post.

Although the final oitcom of thi has no effect on me. It might effect overall activity on the site.. .

I chose to be nuetral in this debate dispite my wall of text. :p but thats my two cents.

what are the results of the poll so far?.

the post hunting can only be stopped by a momenary ban on the website. or by removing the pist count. but if you move to a membership class members will still strive to get to those higher membership classes. All in all. members will always strive and spam for something because they shoot for that sense of acheivement

But the current highest option is to have joinable member groups instead of post count. How can you possibly spam with a motive, other than for the simple desire of spamming? You join the groups, you are not selected for them through achievements.

true but it also depends on the critiria for the membed geoups no?

I gree that there aren't as many reasons for posthunting with membership groups. By my arguement annd points Im just hopig to improv yourr descisions.

what i ment by criteria fo member classes depends on the classes you come up with. Nevermind. Im not being clear with what im saying. il cast a vote

Okay... I am going to bump this thread... After giving long thought about it... I don't see how the current "solution" is going to help to stop the post hunting. Since I am afraid you guys will go... Either:

A) I WANT MY OWN GROUP CUZ IT'S COOL

or

B) Join Join Join spam.

or

C) Flame wars against other groups.

So... Thoughts before I give this a green light... Since my light for this idea is red.

A) I'd say at least 3 people have to request the same group name to start a group
B) People can join whenever they like, asking people to join goes by PM, and only once. Report this to admin/mod if a request is spammed to you.
C) We're one big flamewar. Was Nega-Neko any different? :P

And most of all... It kept in threads like my member's spotlight or the RP... or the spam thread... Or some "counting" forum games... It didn't get in the way... That's what I am sayin'.

"Unfriendly competition" was never allowed in the first place. And from what I've seen, Arpegi isn't like that.

The poll has been unlocked for people who wish to change their vote, or people who haven't voted yet. As soon as the poll ends this time, the changes will be made.

In my eyes, I doubt youd be able to come to a solution because of disagreement and fears of what might happen....

The way memberships worked in a forum I onced visited, a member may apply to a group but only admins could approve them. Why not just make set groups by the admins, then, if people DO apply, only admins can approve. But also a recommendation from other members may also be helpful in deciding, but then again...

Well yeah, I had that it mind, but people wouldn't be declined unless other members made a big fuss about that person joining the group.

That won't be necessary. I believe it's already clear what people want.
- No post count
- Joinable groups

The next question is how to manage the groups.
