Anime VS: Overlord Laharl vs Cloud Strife

This is the second installment of the Arpegi VS series. In this we take two anime characters (who's powers/attributes are relatively similar) and debate who would could eliminate who, in a timed death match.

Laharl: So they call you the greatest RPG character.....lets verify that. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!


Conditions:
-Laharl has taken the fight to Clouds homeworld, the city of Edge specifically. Although Cloud has territory familiarization, Laharl seems to adapt well to a range of different environments.

-Laharl and Cloud will start their fight within close proximity

-Cloud is allowed to utilize any materia he wishes (except for Holy or Meteor as they no longer exist in the anime) and either the buster sword or the fusion sword.

-Laharl naturally only has his signature heavy sword and his magic to rely on

-Laharl has brought nobody with him to Clouds world, he is on his own.

-Cloud cannot contact anyone to help him, this is a solo fight.

-Although people are scrambling to get away from the possible conflict, there are many civilians still present

-There is no time limit, one simply needs to be beat into submission, unable to carry on fighting. Possibly even death.

And before anyone asks, yes they did have their own animes. Cloud had Advent Children (which is classed as a CGI anime) and Laharl had Makai Senki Disgaea.

So, who do you think would win this fight of total brute force?

Laharl is the overlord of the Netherworld. He COMMANDS the whole fricking Netherworld.

2) He saved a planet from being destroyed by a gigantic Meteor, he's been dragged into the lifestream and back, and I'm pretty sure he refuses to lose to lahard (whoever he is)

Laharl can summon a meteor without breaking a sweat. Ten fricking times and going "AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

I was aware of that.
I still say Laharl wins.

Cloud's main strength is simple close combat fighting, and even Laharl might be overwhelmed by his swordsmanship, plus pushing Cloud into a corner might not be a good idea since it would unleash Cloud's limit breaks, nobody wants to be on the receiving end of an Omnislash~
But then again, even though Laharl might not be as skilled in close combat as Cloud may be, he has some real devastating magic based attacks as seen in the video. The ability to summon a meteor with great ease.

Plus, all Cloud needs to do in order to weaken Laharl is to say motivational things along with the word "Love" as they seem to have a negative physical effect on Laharl :p

Both characters signature weapon is a heavy sword, both wield their weapons with ease. Implying their physical strength levels are somewhat similar.
They both can use magic, Cloud utilizes Materia and Laharl utilizes natural Magic.
 Also both characters seem to have the strange ability to completely defy gravity, having amazing acrobatic skills, you only need to watch their animes to understand this.

So in short, they both come off as brutes wielding blades, but in reality they are agile magic users also. They are indeed similar, you just need to look beyond their appearances.

Now to address your first question, Cloud does have the territory advantage, but only because Laharl is the type of character who fights well pretty much anywhere. It would be unfair if Cloud went to the Netherworld and Laharl had the slight advantage of fighting on his home turf.

But your judging them by their anime appearences and in that case Cloud only has the fusion sword....or whatever it's called since all the materia was stollen in advent children.Didn't watch the disgaea anime as of yet though

Yes, I'm judging them by their anime appearances, but this battle isn't taking place within the exact time of their actual anime appearances. So time factors such as Cloud placing the sword in the wasteland or his materia getting stolen won't apply, he has the capability of wielding materia and thus I am giving him the opportunity to, it wasn't hinted or even implied that he could no longer use materia in advent children, was it? Nope, everyone on the planet can.

Yeah, when I said nobody can help Cloud, I was more referring to human help lol
Summoning Materia is fine, especially since they have a time limit for how long they can materialize in the real world. Some longer than others.
