Originals or Remakes?

Lately I have been watching a lot of movies, most of them have been reboots or prequels to famous old movies and one in particular was actually in my opinion better than the original. So it got me thinking guys, what do you all prefer, remakes or the originals? Do you think the remakes do the originals justice or are good enough exceed the original and act as stand alone movies, or do you think that you can never top the original and that remakes just butcher the good name?
