A simple question.
« on: September 11, 2012, 08:40:53 AM »
A simple question debated hundreds of years and many fights over the answer, it has stumped the greatest minds and broke supercomputers. Yet the answer exist and the answer is simple! I give you 1 week to answer the question correctly AND giwve the proper reasoning as to why it's correct. Feel free to debate amungst yourselfs, but keep in mind that a simple farmer solved this riddle. Good luck. If none can answer the answer will be reveiled Monday.

So... what came first, the chicken or the egg?

scientists have literally proven that the chicken came first. They found a particular protein in the chicken egg that only became present at a certain time in history, thus the chicken (whatever it was before) would have had to evolve into the chicken in order to produce the protein, thus the chicken came first.

I think this news is like two years old though o.o

For those of you who believe in religion, you should believe that god created the creature and its spouse before he created the offspring...

So, I'm going with chicken purely on that.

The egg was laid by something that wasn't a chicken just yet, out of that egg, the chicken came to be. All simple evolution stuff.

So the egg was first.

But whatever the solution is, it can't be proven.

The egg can't be made without the chicken. However, the chicken can be made first through evolution by adaption. The cells multiply and gradually construct to make the ideal form.

Well if you want a literal answer, then of course the egg came first. Many many egg-laying species have existed before the chicken. Hell, egg cells have existed for even longer than that.

Which would thus simply be the answer to the question. As you've stated light.

What everyone else is arguing is aether or not the chicken or the chicken egg came first

Species-wise, I suppose the egg came first.

Of course egg laying species came before the chicken, but the proteins that form the egg have changed and evolved. It is equally likely that the protein that formed the first chicken egg was produced through mutation of the chicken's ancestor during its life. So you cannot just say that the egg came first when the protein that formed the egg must have been made through the chicken first.
