Doctor thread
« on: December 14, 2012, 07:34:06 PM »
I got some funny balloon thing that I have to blow up with my nose, it's supposed to equalise the pressure in my middle ear and help the glue drain away. Like this:

With a bit of luck it will work and i will be able to hear well enough to have a decent conversation without every 5th word being "what?"

I've honestly never heard of such a treatment, using balloons sounds so primitive lol
but I hope it works though, living like that must be such a pain.

It's this or surgery, and I can't be bothered with that unless I really have to. It feels like I have cotton wool in my ears now, something is definitely going on in there.

What's bad about surgery?

Who moved my post? I'd have thought up a better name than Doctor Thread. Something like "Attention whore seeking attention" or something.

I don't want surgery unless I have to, there's no guarantee that will work either.

Let's keep the NekoBot things and other stuff in separate threads no?

I guess most people are still scared of surgery :P
3rd to last time I felt they were cutting my leg open, it didn't hurt though.

Nah I've had plenty, I had my finger sewn back on once when I chopped it off in a bike wheel, I had to have my foot put back into place after I broke my leg, I had my arm pinned after breaking it. Probably more, I don't remember.

EDIT: Oh yeah I split my finger like a banana when I fell over holding a bottle, it was just bone sticking up.

Well, then you'll know that trying with a balloon first is better than being in hospital and out of action for a while. It takes weeks for your eardrums to heal and you can't get water in them so a shower is out. It's just easier all round to try this first.

Yay!! I'm off to doctors! It's only minor surgery to remove two moles though.

I went to the hospital last week. Twice to be exact. Does that count?

Well, I went twice last week. Once because they needed to take 'pictures' (I don't know what they're called in English tbh) of my wrist and thumb to see if I had a fracture. Luckily, I didn't. I have a severely bruised wrist and thumb however :P

Second time I had to get my tonsils removed and jfc, I never want to have surgery again.

You must mean X-Rays.

I had my surgery then went shopping, I didn't even feel a scratch. I hope my stitches don't burst at work tomorrow though :D

Yeah, probably. I'm not familiar with the medical terms so yeah.

I have a lot of pain from the tonsil removal though. I can't eat any food that isn't 50% fluid, because normal food hurts my throat and has the chance of causing blood seeping (if seeping is the correct word?). Also, the injections they gave me for the anaesthesia and the sugar water (I wasn't allowed to eat etc.) caused several bruises on my arms because they misplaced it.
