Title: Flash Player, or...?
Post by: Swagmaster on August 29, 2012, 01:35:52 AM
Videos stopped loading on my laptop. Youtube videos and stuff like that work, but most everything just gets stuck on the loading screen. I tried switching browsers, it didn't work. I checked on my PC to see if it was perhaps the internet, but it worked on fine on that.

So I have drawn to the conclusion that is a problem with the Flash Player. I sorta know how to fix it, but I do not want to do something that might end up messing some up.

Is it a Flash Player issue? If so, how can I fix it? If not, what do you think I should do?

Flash Player usually pops over the video when it's not working. How long have you been having this problem?

About a week. Ever since the Barcelona V. Real Madrid game last Thursday IIRC

Strange.. I've never seen anything like it then...
Maybe your firewall is being a dick?

Searched through my Firewall settings, couldn't find anything that might be of use

Have you tried opening the Task Manager and seeing if anything is out of the ordinary, like maybe a high CPU usage or any programs that are taking up too much memory. I dunno, sometimes programs strain the CPU usage and slow certain things down or freeze them completely.

The best I can think of is to just update your flash player, maybe its just outdated now.

It's usually a lack of RAM that freezes stuff.
I only got 3GB and my PC freezes like once a day cuz of Guild Wars 2. Once my RAM gets over 90% I'm done for. (Getting 16GB by the end of the week cuz I'm pissed D: )

Turn off your firewall, try a video (you can trust) and turn it back on.

What if you remove Flash Player with Revo Uninstaller and re-install it?

I realized what it was. Videos are loading, but they aren't playing until the video loads/buffers entirely. I still don't know how to fix this.

Anybody know how?

As far as I know, on certain devices, because of youtubes last update it doesn't buffer the video fast enough so ot stops your video... but at the same time pausing stops buttering.... although... when watching longer videos (20min-1hr) buttering appears to be much faster and without incident

Okay I solved it! Apparently some program was downloaded onto my PC called Sendori and it was stopping Flash Player. I uninstalled it and all is well now!
