Title: A help on essays
Post by: BloodcatNS on April 18, 2012, 07:30:39 AM
Well, this is embarrassing, but I need help on how to make essays. When I'm writing about a topic, ideas always spring to my head but when I write them, they kinda sound like jumbled shit when read.

So can you guys give me some tips on how to write a proper essay? Introduction, Body, Conclusion and all?

It's about question the relevance of the past to the present. I only need tips on how to give my thoughts a proper flow.

Oh okay.

Well... It's important that you start with a draft. And always list the things you want to write about.
Like when you have to write a story... Make a quick overview on another paper of what you are going to do... So that way you have your flow already.

Also, do you use Word?

Yes. But I use Notebook more often. It's easier for me.

Well, in Word you can use headers...

Also, don't by shy to use enter.

Try to make it interesting to read. I always got extra points for that. To give the reader the feeling he's not just reading an essay. But without overdoing it.

Oh and sometimes look to your essay from "another direction" ... That ALWAYS makes it more interesting.

So I just make a list of the thing I want to say... then I could try and link them to give a proper flow? And about giving the feeling of not reading an essay... how do I do that? Should I do something like a narrative or just write as if I'm writing a casual letter to a friend or something like that?

You're a troll magnet :|

I don't really have anything of worth to add. Usually my essays are best when I stall them. But that's very bad advice.
Good luck with your essay Blood.

Should I do something like a narrative or just write as if I'm writing a casual letter to a friend or something like that?

Letters, narratives, and essays are pretty much completely different things when it comes to writing, iirc. There are rules and regulations and shit. Not meeting them may mean point deduction, or at least that's how I was taught...

If I can convey my thoughts right, then I'm fine with anything, tbh.

It's basically a big freaking thesis, one you need to work on the WHOLE year.

About 1 company. For example.

Eh Blindshot... If you need mine... just ask . I was the highest of my class last year.

I normally use IDEAC for every essay I write
Identify
Define
Explain
Apply
Conclusion

How you use that in your current essay is your problem :p

I could offer some help with proofreading or just to look it over and give some thoughts.
I'm not trying to brag, but I'm pretty good at making essays. Especially when it comes to creative writing.
