Title: Ancient Browser, Infinite Page Warning
Post by: NekoBot on April 11, 2014, 12:28:13 PM
To those who chose to use ancient versions of browsers, be warned that you can trigger an infinite loop of opening windows on Arpegi that can ultimately crash your CPU. Recently I had to wipe my CPU because of a reasons and tested the site with a not up to date, ancient browser to see how the site behaved, and thusly is how I have come to such findings.

The event occured when opening a thread in a new tab by using the scroll button on my mouse. I haven't gone back to retest this, largely because I have no want to crash my computer and potentially cause more corrupted files while installing updates.

That's odd, I never heard of this happening. Not even in a VM .

Will you at least let us know what browser and which version you used to cause this?

I know a fix. Upon the popup, do not press "OK". Instead open the task manager and search for the instance of the program that uses the most memory. Right click and select "End Process Tree". Task Manager should now close each instance of the program.

I wouldn't use IE. It's awful. Personally, I prefer Firefox.
