Touhou games.

NekoJonez:
Okay, I saw that some forum users talked about this game A LOT... so, I decided to give this game a try... and how man is it fun.
It makes me feel ashamed that I looked over this gem and angry at the Western world to not give enough attention to these games.

Japan is the master of gaming and for some reason they don't get enough attention... this game series proves it all over again.

So, this topic is to discuss Touhou and I have a request... as a new fan... what is ESSENTIAL to know?

CarolineJohnson:
Nothing really ESSENTIAL, technically, except knowing the general controls and the movesets of the playable characters. They have different shots and different powered shots. You may be better with one team instead of another.

Now, if you have a translation patched onto your game, then knowing the movesets will be easy. Sort of. If not, a Touhou wiki can certainly help.

...I've gotten away with not knowing anything about the games. Not even who I'm playing or the story.

Caster no Mae:
its Actually good that not too much Westerns have their eyes on these because that always includes bad Fandom into the series in general

Bad fandom how?

Like, fans that create something weird that outsiders begin to view as the entire fandom and the game itself, or a group of fans that generally act like assholes and give the fandom a bad name?
