Ho man, LTTP hacking
« on: December 08, 2013, 03:25:57 PM »
I will archive everything I do here with updates and things. Right now, I'm making a proof of concept. And, this shits hard man  :o

Every new update will have the subsequent updates in it, unless it is stated it was changed

Had to google what LTTP was, lol.. I guess it's a rom hack?
I was in the midst of a pokemon rom hack at one point .. it's really fun getting down into it and organizing the code.. I had offsets and pointers all documented since I was adding chunks of code and had to re-adjust pointers a lot.

From what I know, ever game has it's own editor, and they're all different. Zeldas editor is, from most reviews I read before starting, is obnoxiously difficult to use. And, well, I'd have to agree. You can hard edit stuff, but, doing one thing can cause the rom to rewrite everything to the original state or irreversibly corrupt it. I've corrupted tons of versions of the proof, but, ya gotta get through the muck to learn your stuff yeah? haha :P

There are only 396 lines in the game. Huh. Seems like not a lot

New update for the proof of concept, the guards have different text, the start text is different, starting weapon is different, starting dungeon is partially edited. Hex edited x-scrll to fix a bug.

Give it a go? You will need a snes emulator such as zsnes to play

I don't think this would be for the kind of games I like.

I can however tweak the coding of simple coded games like Mount & Blade.
You can tweak about everything in that game.
