"But that man went that way," Melodia said, pointing in the direction the man left. "That's the way we came from, so if we went there it'd take a full day." She did a few exercises as she spoke, still a bit stiff from sleeping on the hard floor of a cart.

"I don't know how," Melodia replied. "There was only one horse that lived around my grandma's house that would even let us touch it, but it bucked people off because it was wild, so my grandma never let me try to ride it. The rest of the horses wouldn't get near us... I think they should've, because they were half the size of your horse and couldn't even make noise. I don't think they had enough food." She shrugged. "Is riding a horse like riding a big turtle?"

Askardi laughs, "haha, no Melodia, not exactly." he smiles at his steed. "Shes very gentle... and reliable. I could help you onto her and then you can see for yourself."

(Will it take a day to get to town?)

"Sure!" Melodia said, making her first attempt to get on the horse.....and fell backwards with her foot stuck. "Ack!" She coughed a little.

((It may, but it may not. We can just timeskip to where we get to town, and whoever starts the skip can pick if it does or not.))

Askardi smiles a little. "Here." He untangles the foot and puts her on proper. "Now try to go forward."

the horse hesitated, looking to Askardi. He just smiled and nodded.

The great beast then started to move forward slowly. The hooves cloc, cloc, cloc muffled by dirt and earth.

Askardi walks beside the pair.

"So tell me a little bit about your town"

"I don't know anything about it," Melodia said. "Before we left on the carts was the first time I saw it." She called for Nom with that wordless shout and soon the little dragon was on the horse's head, batting at its mane.

Askardi gives Melodia a sly smile. "I dont. You're unique, like me." He gives her a big smile. Then jumps onto the horse behind her. "Ready for some real speed?"

The foreigner a braces Melodia and shouts 'ÆÅß'

The dark steeds saunter becomes a gallop, the surroundings becoming less defined and blured as she, the steed goes faster and faster.

Askardi eases his grip on Melodia slowly so she can feel the full rush.

"Hows it feel?"

"This is great," Melodia said. "The turtle never went this fast." She grinned. Suddenly, without warning, she fell off. After a second she sat up and looked around. "I'm not sure what just happened."

The town was bright and bustling with people, with shops aplenty and wide open streets. However, as the two entered the town, people began to stare and whisper amongst themselves. Every whisper was along the same path. "It's her!" they said amongst themselves. "What if we catch her insanity?"

Melodia looked around at the staring people in confusion. "What's their problem?" She asked. "Do I have a booger?" The girl wiped her nose with the back of her hand.

A tall, muscled stranger walked up to the two. "So you're the Enfys girl," he mused. "You don't look like the rumors say." He patted Melodia on the head. "Name's Torah," he continued. "An adventurer looking for cash. Town guard hired me to take you in because you could possibly commit crimes, but if they really arrested people for that then they'd have to arrest the entire town!" The man laughed obnoxiously.

Melodia stared at Torah before looking to Askardi. "Do you trust this guy at all?" she hissed, trying to hide the question from the man before them.

Torah patted Melodia on the head again. "Don't trust me, eh?" He asked, making a wild shot in the dark at what the two whispered about. "I've been steering you toward the tavern. The main guard building I was supposed to take you to is on the other side of town. I ain't gonna turn a couple of innocent folks in." He laughed, pulling the middle finger on a guard who had heard the whole thing. "And if you don't like it, tell your boss I quit," he yelled to the guard after passing him.

Melodia frowned, not sure if this Torah was acting dumb or had some kind of plan for later.

Torah crossed his arms. "So," he said. "What say you we get some grub and go to the abandoned Enfys house? I guess you're coming to pick up all their stuff, right? Nobody would touch the place after they were...you know...so it's all still there."

Melodia got quiet and looked around a little. There was no way to tell what she was thinking.

".... Sure, come on Melodia." Askardi is still unsure of the mans intentions and remains cuatious but follows the man. He moores his steed to a tree with a secure knot using an unbreakable rope.

Torah led the two into the tavern and up to the bar. "Hey, can we get some grub down he---" He noticed the bad look he was getting and stopped. "Nevermind the food, then. They're not serving us, apparently." He led them back outside. "Well that was a bust. Sorry for wasting your time there. Onto the next destination, then." He led them all the way to an old house that looked pretty much abandoned and dangerous to be around. "You guys go in. I'll stay out here and make sure no one bothers you."

Melodia nodded and walked up to the door. She slowly opened it and before she could walk in, she screamed and fell backwards. "Oh...oh my g...What..." She began to whimper a little.

Torah peered into the home from the spot he had been leaning against. "Skeletons..." He muttered. "Two of them..." He looked away, rubbing his eyes. "This town is so messed up. I really should try harder to usurp the count's cushy throne. It's his messed up way of thinking that did all this."

Torah shrugged. "I wasn't living here when it happened, since I would've only been eight or so, but I heard about it," he replied. "Most of the townsfolk describe a condition sounding like a magical overload, and claim it's contageous. They claim that's why they're right to... uh..." He stopped, not wanting to upset the young girl any more, so he used charades to vaguely describe a ritual burning at the stake. "Every time someone 'catches' it, I mean. Which it's apparently not happened since."

Melodia wasn't looking at Torah. She was still staring at the bones in the house, not sure if she should even attempt to enter the home now.
