It's a complicated calculation with how much you earn. I think Miz is better in explaining this for Belgium.

Tax gets higher the more you earn, but it isn't uncommon for people to have a total of 50% taxes on their income.

I work part-time, so I don't earn much and I have to pay 15%

Citizen tax, land tax and car tax ain't a laugh either.

Yeah, in Brazil, we have taxes that get higher the more you earn as well. Also, a bunch of other high as fuck taxes, including taxes on games, which is why that kinda stuff is so damn expensive either.

And don't even get me started on how we get little to no return.
