I've heard from a few people that the movie adaptation sticks true to the books so it should be pretty good, though I have yet to see it.

Mostly, the general plot is there. A lot of minor information isn't elaborated on, but it doesn't really affect the experience greatly. Check the Wikipedia page if you want the list of things that changed from the book.

Overall, it's pretty great. Thank God, the romance isn't given much importance.

I think I'm gonna watch the movies before I read the books.. This way I already know the book is raped.

Yeah, movies mostly rape books. Well, mostly? Always actually, no matter how much they stick to the book. So after I watch the movie (before I start reading the books), I'll already know the book will be the movie but thousand times better!

It's a good movie, but I hate how instantly everyone bandwagoned it just because they think it's similar to Twilight.....and the fact that it's based off a book they have never read in their lives until the movie came out years later.

Usually, it happens that way. But the movie depicts the movie quite well. Having the author help on the production and all.

Which means.... visually... did Christopher Paolini see his books that way? hmmmm

That is if he had any major influence on the production. Particularly on the scenes and script.  J.K. Rowling and Suzanne Collins certainly did. Dunno 'bout Christopher Paolini though. Wikipedia didn't list him on the team. So, that's a no.

Honestly? I was disappointed by the movie and I haven't even read the books yet.
I dunno about this but I guess you should have read the books before the film. :P

I'm gonna buy the books pretty soon.

And C. Paolini wasn't allowed to help on the movie.. Probably why it turned out to be shit and they decided not to make the sequels.

I'm gonna buy the books pretty soon.
Expect a lot of mushy scenes and self-conflicted moments.
