Do you see things in a traditional or modernist point of view?
Seeing that stereotyping is a double-edged sword, is it mostly good or bad?
Do you still think gender roles should be applied in today's society?
Do you think people can be classified as good or bad? Why or why not?
Do you judge people by their actions or their intentions? May you justify your answer?

Like you, I'm in a student in Psychology (but we don't have subjects in it yet. Weird). I found myself in a writer's block whenever we're limited in a specific topic. Do you have any tips on how to write and organize ideas?

Would you agree with me that as mammals, our evolutionary advantage over other species are the female teats?

1) I guess I'm a mixture of both, there are certain elements of tradition that I think are necessary such as "Marriage is for life" and a lot of the things that originate from the teachings of the bible, just because it keeps families together and a lot of our modern values are de-valuing the family and its importance. However the breakthroughs in modern society such as more tolerance for social groups which would have been discriminated against in more earlier times is something that I approve of. I'm neither one or the other since solely looking through one scope limits your line of sight.

2) Well deliberately stereotyping for the sole reason of offending is bad, but we do need stereotypes in society. It helps youth understand that there are different groups in society, and there are. There always will be. If we blur the line too much then it'll cause problems. We don't have to believe that every single person adheres to their stereotype, but we need to understand that there are differences. That's important.

3) To some degree, yeah. Same with my stereotyping point. I believe its important for differences to be understood. So it all boils down to the youth and how they develop with these stereotypes, we need to show them that there are gender differences but not to the extreme that women or men absolutely have to adhere to them. Since we are a society of status and labels, it's important we maintain that perspective during the developmental phase until such a time when society changes.

(Man I've been out of Sociology for so long I can't construct a good argument, forgive my messiness :p)

4) I don't believe there is such a thing as good or bad, only differing opinions. Take the war in Iraq, do I see who we call "enemies" as evil beings who are only out to destroy us? Course not, they simply come from a different walk of life and are doing what they believe to be right, it just happens to be the parallel of what we believe is right. We classify things as evil so it makes it easier to dehumanise them and deal judgement accordingly, and we classify ourselves as good so we feel better about carrying out that judgement.
Good and bad, heroes and villains. None of that exist. They are just illusions we use for our own benefit.

5) Since its my perspective you are asking of, it makes answering it a little more difficult. How I see the world is different from the norm since I live in a world of anxiety. So I naturally judge people on their intentions before I even know what their intentions are, their actions reinforce my view on what I believe their intentions are. So I basically make pieces of my mental jigsaw fit by cutting the edges. I don't think that's the way it should be for others, so it's hard for me to answer that question. But that's my answer.

6) Well what I used to do, is that I had like several notebooks. One of which was a Psychology notebook, and I jotted down everything that was said by the tutor in class, after class I would re-word everything that was said. Then divide what I wrote into sections like one side is for the evolutionary approach and this side is for the Cognitive approach and the highlight all the important words. Red was for important names of psychologists and studies, blue was for important terms, green was for numbers. Then I think I re-wrote it all again while putting emphasis on the stuff I underlined. I had a crazy fucking process of organizing the stuff I was taught lol
but unless you didn't mean it in a way of remembering stuff and more towards trying to write about something with limited material. I normally just divided my topic into different view points. Explain your topic from the cognitive, biological, behavioural, psychodynamic and humanist approach and then cross and compare, explain why certain viewpoints conflict or agree with each other, then conclude. In Psychology your own opinion is worthless, all you need to know is what the major approaches are and how they explain certain topics.

7) Yes I agree

Why don't you find me attractive anymore?
I told you, I don't love you anymore.
