Virus ;A;
« on: May 18, 2012, 04:48:54 AM »
So I've had this shit for several weeks, cleared out my entire computer, reformatted, restored to its default settings, but it still has a virus and my mother's too pissed to even let me try to fix it.
The internet provider calls it a "~blaster~" virus or something.
How do I get rid of it? ;A;

If nuking it from orbit doesn't work, try incinerating it.

OT Have you tried MalwareAntiBytes? That worked for me.
or
Try deleting this from your registry(might be risky, look for alternatives)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\windows auto update=msblast.exe

If you've reformatted your computer and it's still there, chances are one of your external devices is the source of the virus, so you might wanna scan/reformat them as well.

Oh. I hadn't thought about that... But I've used so many external devices on my laptop during these past two weeks ;A;
Also... question:
If I have the same virus on a different computer, what are the chances that it passed over directly from that computer? And how.

Afaik, the only ways viruses can spread are by external devices, infected files, and when two computers are directly connected.

It does small things like dims my screen randomly and messes with my volume.
Also, AT&T finds it and says it's infected my computer, and that's how my mom knows about it.
The internet for all the computers goes out for a bit.

Does it switch off your computer? Or maybe a message like "Windows is shutting down, please save all you work"?

Can you tell me the exact problem... What exactly is your computer doing wrong... Since most sites DIRECTLY blame the virusses..
Also, if your anti malware software detects a virus... Which one is it exactly?

They don't detect anything.
The only thing is that the internet provider is constantly telling all the computers in the house that a "~blaster~ virus has infected the following computers: Popn-Milk(mine)"

I'm assuming you've all tried to google it, but just in case
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/826955
^ it details what the Blaster worm is and how to repair and remove it from the computer. It is an old article but you never know right.

But blaster worms don't usually harm Windows 7. This is here is a rare case, I assume.
