Title: What would you do if your girlfriend/boyfriend...
Post by: Joel16 on June 10, 2013, 03:04:00 AM
What would you do if your girlfriend lied to you, about wanting to talk to you? but instead she lies about not being able to, because she's busy doing other things (when she's really not)

btw this is just a general question O_O

I know my boyfriend wouldn't. ^w^

However, I sort of doubt this is a general question for some reason..!
So to answer your general question in the most non-general way
If my girlfriend were to like to me about wanting to talk to me and is telling me she were busy, I would give her the benefit of the doubt and leave her be; let her know I'll be there for her whenever she feels fit to come along and talk to me. Maybe hint at my suspicions without really accusing her of anything, even if I know for a fact that she is lying to me.
I would something subtle like "I'm okay with it if you'd like some space." in the most sincere way possible. I don't mean to say that it should -sound- sincere, I mean it to BE sincere.
Just don't make her feel like you're cornering her if you decide to address her on this issue, you know? Be assertive, not aggressive.
Aggression can be any sentence that starts out with "You..." or something, like "You always blah blah blah" or "You don't blah blha lbhaladk" so be careful when doing that.
Oh... But uh...
This is just about me and my hypothetical girlfriend of course. No need to take any of this to mind.  ::)

Lool haha :P I actually hate liars though :L I mean like if she's my gf, I'd trust her but if she lies lool, that trust can be shattered in seconds once I've found out that she's been lying. Yeah I'm a guy who gives up easily :L

It could just be a way for her to get some space without trying to hurt your feelings. It'd be best to just go along with it. You can't force someone to love you more.

I know my boyfriend wouldn't. ^w^

people have different ways of dealing with situations, not everyone can be as blunt as to say "leave me alone" and not everyone has the necessary linguistic skills to be able to convey it without hurting the opposite partner. Lying is something everyone can do, its inbuilt into us at an early age, so I wouldn't feel particularly hurt I guess. It's just another coping mechanism, to say that lying is only for the fowl and the cruel is misguided.

I wouldn't worry about it, just give him/her some space. Suffocating someone is just going to piss them off, you don't have to live in each others pockets and I regularly make excuses(little white lies) so I can go play games or something.
