I stopped watching anime about a year ago. I must've missed a lot because this seems like a good one.
On another note, I really want to start RPing again. I have some plans on making a new thread and an RP world with a few "laws of magical physics" so that no one would be too OPed and people will get creative when they use any form of magic or special powers.

Finally! Some rules about OP-ness!

I have some ideas tossing around,

1. The law of equivalent exchange. (pretty much self-explanatory. You can't get power without exchanging something in return. Whether it be the mana in the air, materials you find around you, or even your own life force. If you use a spell powerful enough to wipe out a town, you'd better be prepared to die since the mana around you is not enough to sustain a force that large.)

2. Everyone born in this world has the capability to use magic or powers but the type and power of the magic you can use is different from person to person. As such, one might be born only able to use water magic, but is able to conjure up a mini tidal wave. Or one can use three different element types but all three have weaker power. Some might even have a useless ability like merely changing the color of an object. This is determined from birth as such, the only way for you to power up is to either forcibly increase your magic circuits (which according to Law of Equivalent Exchange, would endanger your life) or acquiring a "tool" to enhance your already existing powers.

.... That's about it for now... I'm still trying to work out some kinks in the system so that there won't be any loopholes. If you guys are interested, I'd love to hear your ideas.

I'd definitely be interested in joining, I love magic based RPs.

I'd love to offer suggestions but it would mostly just be me ending up drawing in things from my own (biological) magic based RP, which would be weird.

Yeah, but there could also be psychic-like abilities or powered up martial arts in this world. For example, a person has the ability to direct the mana flow from his/her brain into another person's brain thus giving him telepathy, or a person has the ability to draw mana into parts of his/her body to strengthen them giving them increased speed or strength. Of course, following the laws, that person can only strengthen to a set amount, any more and the bones will start to break and muscles will tear.


Basically, all "magic" in this world is merely the "affection and alteration of physical phenomena through manipulation of mana." Everybody can perform "magic" in this world, but only a fraction of the population has the required biological circuitry to actively change and affect large-scale phenomena. These would be the ones considered to be "magicians"
