Title: Should Arpegi have its own subreddit?
Post by: CarolineJohnson on October 14, 2012, 11:09:18 PM
Okay, so I was on Reddit and got this really neat idea: eliminate the spam topic and make a private subreddit in place of it.

Pros:
Cons:
What do you guys think? Should it happen? Shouldn't it?

Eliminating the spam thread?
1. Why?
2. Arpegi needs it o.o

Also:
  • Not everyone likes Reddit
This applies to me.
I wouldn't like to see our spam thread on Reddit.

I have nothing against the creation of the subreddit though.

A subreddit for a forum sounds counter-intuitive.

I don't see why we shouldn't give it a shot, I mean I don't see how it could make anything worse. We're kinda shooting from ground at this point.

There's not much in the spam thread other than text and youtube videos most of the time, so I don't think loading time's much of an issue.

If you think Arpegi is down, then all you have to do is contact one of the admins or one of the members who have an admin's contact for confirmation. Since the current community is pretty tight-knit, I don't think this is much of an issue either, for now at least. There's also the option of using http://www.isup.me/ for confirmation instead, though I'm not sure of the reliability.
