I like a few songs by Protest the Hero, but most of them don't really catch my... ear.
Never heard of those other bands, I think I'll give them a listen.

I love Rage Against The Machine. Its not just their music but their ideals as well.
As for classic rock I listen to Queen, Survivor and some other. ( Bohemian Rhapsody is my favourite Queen song BTW :D )
When Heavy\Thrash is brought up I prefer Black Sabbath, Metallica. Of course, don't forget Prog metal bands SOAD and Dreamtheater.
Does anyone here like the Japanese band 'Maximum The Hormone'? They're pretty awesome. The second opening theme of Death Note is their song 'What's Up People'
