Title: Minecraft - Redstone Question
Post by: NekoJonez on August 10, 2012, 08:07:33 AM
Hey Minecrafters

I have a bit of trouble with redstone torches.

Can somebody explain to me how you can get a redstone torch to turn on... like two switches need to be pulled before a door opens....

and-gate* ?

redstone torches always start "on"

I've seen some chart with all the possible redstone gates you can make on minecraftwiki. I don't know them by heart.

That would be an AND gate. Here (http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/AND_Gate#AND_Gate_.28.E2.88.A7.29) is what Minecraft Wiki says about it, with a picture that shows off the most simple AND gate.

To turn a redstone torch on, you need to place it. It should default to on unless you've setup some redstone circuit that turns it off.

A angate.

There is no such thing as an 'angate'. It is an AND gate. Meaning you need one lever AND another lever before anything will happen on the result end.

If you go on Minecraft Wiki, you will not find any pages for an 'angate'.

Even if 'angate' existed, it would be an angate, not a angate :P

I think Mizari has already stated it, they tend to always start on. Even if they don't, normally they are activated by a switch of some sort. I've honestly never had a problem with them so the question is confusing.

You want an AND Gate.

Not "A" angate, or "AN" angate.

AND Gate.
