(http://news.bbcimg.co.uk/media/images/59040000/jpg/_59040373_59040372.jpg)It has been discovered that long space missions may cause damage to eyesight and produce brain abnormalities. Now you may be wondering how this is serious or even problematic, "just make sure they don't stay out there too long" you might even say. It's true that space missions are normally limited to a few weeks/months at the longest when humans are involved but since NASA has expressed interest of conducting missions to Mars, this new finding has caused problems as a mission of that caliber could take years. In a sense this almost guarantees that our astronauts have a very good chance of coming back with various brain disorders and loss of eyesight.

So far it is unknown whether measures will be put in place to attempt to combat these effects (if they can) or if the mission will be scrapped.

They don't have to know :3

They don't have to know :3
They probably do already ^
-
Let them recruit some random dudes who live in the middle of nowhere.
-
in tha sahara good luck finding them. XD
-
I think they should just scrap it and put the funds into something that's currently more important, like
KONY the atrocities that are going on in Africa.

That's a good idea :p. (but seriously it takes a lot of time to get prepared/train)

The dog and the monkey didn't get a lot of training either.
Btw they don't need to know it's not very safe when they "forget" to install the expensive safety parts.
-
win win for everybody so it seems exept from the people of the dessert
-
There are "middle of nowhere" parts all over the world.
People from the dessert are smarter than you think though :p

Eskimos would do well, they wouldn't mind how cold the shuttle would get out in space =3

Considering the heat from the engine and the suns heat reflecting off Earth's atmosphere, It should be at least -220°C

Shush, let me live in my world of terrible logic!

Humans can barely take good care of earth. I don't understand why they would want to go to mars anyway
-
to destroy mars duh. XD
-
They probably would. Take all the possible energy sources from it, and leave it to shrivel up in space
-
yup that's how people are in general if you don't have any power thingy on you planet you go search for other on a different planet

But we are already in an energy crisis, so why burn mass amounts of fuel (enough to propel the shuttle through space for a year or so) and find that there are no energy sources that could be used back on earth. Bear in mind that Mars most likely has no life or never did and therefore has no fossil fuels. Even if we -did- find usable forms of energy over there, we would need to salvage enough to make up for all the fuel we burned to get there in the first place to salvage them :p
-
i didn't say we where smart :) atleast not all every one of us

Hey, it's NASA we're talking about. It's run by the USA GOVERNMENT. Nobody said they were smart

So Star Trek is a lie? GOD DAMMIT!

Star Wars FTW!
