Saw the interest on this game on the Upcoming Games thread and thought I might create a dedicated thread.

Personally, I felt that people are not hyped for this game at all. Did DA2 leave SUCH a bad taste? I mean it was bad, but I don't think it was "so bad I don't want Dragon Age anymore". Anyhoo from what I heard, the game is once again going through a lot of changes.

For starters, the RP elements have gone back to its roots, allowing race selection and such; you can even play as a Qunari in this game!

The battle system has been changed a lot as well. They left DA2 behind but instead of going back to the traditional top down strategy battle system, they've instead opted for a more Star Ocean like battle system. Action strategy would be the term, I believe.

I'm actually pretty excited for this game, but it's overshadowed by Tales in my case.

(The US actually getting Tales games is significant news, okay)

DA2 wasn't as bad as people make it out to be, and I definitely still want more Dragon Age. I plan to get Inquisition for the PS3, and I'm looking forward to different playable races again *w* I looooove Dragon Age. I should play Origins/DA2 again sometime, but my backlog of unplayed games is so huge and I beat them both already. I'll probably replay them before getting to Inquisition.

Otherwise I admit I don't really know much about this game; I haven't exactly been paying attention, and I tend to avoid most news regarding upcoming games that I already know I'm going to be purchasing.

I'm more interested at it now since I don't have any of my games left and the game has action elements.That's a big plus since I suck at rts.

I was thinking about playing the first one again though

Couldn't hurt! I only played as a human noble because I am boring. :c
Next playthrough... I have no idea. I'll have to pick one of my characters to play the game as, that'll be really fun.

also, slightly off-topic but I sure as hell would not call Star Ocean "Action Strategy"
Action, yes
Real-time battles, yes
Strategy... not so much... (except maybe SO3 but only because that game is fucking hard)

You can't suck at Dragon Age even if you suck at RTS games. You can pause and relay orders, unless you're playing on Legendary.

Disregard everything else and play as a Qunari

I know but somehow I still sucked bad at my first playthrough on normal difficulty.
Btw I'm playing as Dalish elf again.Just cause all the other origins suck compared to this one

I was thinking....Maybe dragon age:inquisition should let you play as a tranquil.

Like screw all the sh*t about making choices and keeping relationships with your comrades.The only way sh*t'll get done is if you be a complete tool
