Proper way to open a banana?

This odd debate popped up in my geography class... So... Lets have this debate here

Proper way:
1) Top: Stem, regular human way
2) Bottom: Shit looking thing, the monkey way

Unless we have some monkey members here, I don't think many would chose the bottom option.

I have a friend who, when I pulled out a banana, he opened it from the bottom when this whole debate started. I was like "how in hell do you open it from the bottom"
