Title: Carnivorous Plants

Don't know what a carnivorous plant is? Refer to this (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carnivorous_plant). It's all basically just Pitcher Plants, Venus Fly Traps, Sundews, etc. Venus Fly Traps (VFTs) are probably the most well-known of the bunch.

This is not an excuse for me to start showing everyone my new VFT, but here it is anyway:

I named him Gordon. He's perked up since that picture, as that was just after I potted him in that weird pot with damp sphagnum moss (they're not supposed to go dry, ever). I bought him from here (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00Q1UH0UG) if anyone's interested.

I got the moss dried, but I had to get it saturated and wrap the VFT with it as well as fill the pot. The VFT itself will die if it goes without water (fun fact: the only water it will thrive with is distilled or rain water).

When I was 13-ish I got one that was pretty weak already and I tried nursing it back but CALIFORNIA GETS NO RAIN.

Yeah. The two big points of VFTs is that they can't be planted in dirt or watered with tap water, or they'll die.

Distilled water's been working great, honestly. Gordon hasn't wilted yet. LOL

Not all too often, but when it does it's too much (i.e. last time it rained we nearly flooded. The time before that was more of the same, but a lot more). Right now it hasn't rained once in a month or two. My mom collects rainwater when it rains, because that makes it a lot better to water plants when it doesn't rain, but right now she's full out. We had to go buy distilled ASAP because Gordon was actively wilting.

It's not like they creep up on you in your sleep and bite you. If anything, they keep the number of flies in your home to a minimum.

It's as safe as keeping normal flowers. For people and animals, anyway. Bugs beware.

Because normal dragons couldn't ravage your home town bad enough?

Somebody should mod that into skyrim btw.
