It's finally happened, after 33 years since I got my Atari 2600 in 1983 I've just lost all interest in gaming.
My last three console games Mafia 3, Battlefield 1 and Watch Dogs 2 have just a few hours put into them before being cast aside. I haven't even turned on my PS4 in ages.
There is literally nothing that intrerests me anymore.

Well that's your first problem.

Well you seem to mostly play mainstream western games.
Switch to different genres, you'll find your love for them again

Persona 5 is the only other genre game that I find remotely interesting.
I should point out that I have 500,000 roms, I have every game ever made up to Ps2 era, and a large selection of everything after that. I've played all genres to death, especially RPGs, but I just can't be bothered now.

Well time to go back to the Atari then
ET will surely rekindle your appreciation for every other game out there.

That sucks, man.
Why not try playing some old classics or favorites to get back into the mood?

I've tried a few times, but I just turn offand browse the interwebs instead.
I think I need a big long break, no gaming at all for ages, see if I miss it when it's gone.

Honestly, I got a time as well... I did other things like watching movies and such. After a while, I got back into games...
You might have let it rest for a while. Maybe games might interest you again, maybe not.

A few months ago I had the same feeling. But it turned out that it was just the current situation of my life that affected my mood.
I had to reassure myself that gaming is still the most important thing of my personality. Setting goals for yourself might do the trick. Gaming friends and/or rivals are a blessing.

Well, I've started looking at Steam games and it's got me a little more interested again. I've never really bothered with Steam before, but these last few days since making this post I've bought a few games.
Motorsport Manager is different to anything I currently have and although I only got a quick go and one race I'm excited to get home tomorrow night and play some more.
Thinking about it, it's work that's killing my mood mostly, I never get time to game now, i can't imagine jumping into a time consuming RPG ever again because an hour here and there just sucks. I need quick paced games I can jump in and out of.

Like Overwatch eh. Games are usually about 10 minutes and I usually get my fill after about an hour.

We all go through this. It may be a little different for you since you're older than us, but I went through the same. I even lost interest in Anime at some point but that came back. When school was on I didn't game much honestly but I'm back at it now that it's break. I also lost interest in watching new TV shows, but I'm sure it will come back.
It's probably just work that has you feeling this way. I'm sure you'll find joy in gaming again.
