Title: Wacky Childhood Games
Post by: senpai_FisT on December 07, 2013, 06:22:14 PM
Games you used to play with friends or self. Non electronic games only.

We used to play this game we called "Cutter Mario" (based on the popular Nintendo character). The dungeon master creates the stage using every school tools like rulers and erasers. Then the DM specifies a start point and an end point. Sometimes, there are even optional paths which usually have a 1-Up at the end which allows the player to resurrect himself if he falls down and dies. Once the stage is set the players take turn navigating "Mario" (the pencil sharpener AKA cutter) using a pencil to push him around. Times are noted down by the DM and the person who finishes the course in the least amount of time wins.

The second one I remember is "Pokemon Legends", a game based on Pokemon that I came up with myself. Oh boy, the amount of hours I put into creating and updating this thing! D: I believe I spent more time on this than studying.

It was more of a roleplay than a game but....

I once played this game with my cousin where we pretended we were some super powered horses who had to defend the world from evil (the evil was in the for of pillows btw) with the power of courage and friendship. It was corny and fun....

But now that I think about it,I think we created the concept of My little Ponies,

Oh yeah. I also played pretend soldiers with one of my cousins. We had lots of lightguns from these fake chinese NESs we had.

When I was little, my friends and I threw rocks at each other of various sizes until someone got pelted hard enough to either be hurt or draw blood. Yeah, we were fucked up kids

Once I got stabbed by a fishing hook through my thumb in a game of 'danger' tag, I still got a scar from it. Life was interesting, it was a factor in transitioning into fostercare

I'm not rely sure if other people played this, but I used to play a game called groundies with my neighbors. We'd go to the playground and then pick a person to be the finder. We blindfold him and give him a stick (the stick is so he doesn't hit anything while searching). And them every one else must find somewhere to hide other than staying on the ground. If the blindfolded dude thinks somebody is on the ground, he scream "groundies!" It's pretty much a Marco Polo playground-twist

When megaman used to be a big hit in the gradeschool days (what with the anime(?) and everything) we used to pretend to be x person fighting y opponent. It was childishly insane, but it was fun

Every game of those guys where awesome. Even if you let young kids play them now, they do their job perfectly.
