Dark souls stat souls

So I have been playing Dark souls 2 a lot and I have to say the combat in this game is pure awesome.There's just so many ways you could fight in this game.So anyways...so far I was raising my stats using this formula strength:Dexterity:Endurance = 1:2:1 and currently this is my stats:

As you can see I'm dual wielding with a rapier and a curved sword.
So here's some questions.
1.Should I continue with my stat build?equip load seems to be important so...like umm I dunno should I squeeze in vitality on my build?
2.How do you play dark souls?how do you level up your character?can I see a pic of your character?

umm.... well, eventually in DS2, you'll get to a place that has some samurai looking enemies that are all black and stuff, if you use bonfire eccentrics and stuff, you can keep farming them for the katanas, but, from what I know, it is a rare drop. But, it is a damn good weapon

I haven't used a single katana in this game yet....I really do like rapiers though.I wonder when I'll find a really good one.

The katanas have an A in scaling and good damage, I beleive they come with extra dark damage already on them (and, you can put other things on them too) the only downside is the durability, but, that shouldn't be surprising as it is a characteristic of the katana

I actually don't understand the durability system of this game.Is there any indicator that shows how damaged your weapon is?

Idunno, I only know it's time to repair them if it says 'weapon at risk' but there's probably an indicator somewhere
