Title: "WTF" moments in games.

So, I am playing PokePark 2 - Wonders Beyond on the Wii... The "2nd location".. you have to go to is a city... Okay. Keep in mind that there are no humans in this game. All creatures living in that world are the Pokémon... So, I arrive in that city... And, it's a regular human city. O_O WHAT?

This made me go WTF. Like... in Pokémon Ruby... "Wanna sprinkle the berry trees"... While it's raining.

So, that are two nice examples... What made you WTF in a game? (Please, when you it's a (sort-of) spoiler for the game... Put it under a spoiler.)

I like to use that term a lot because it can be used for a variety of situations.

Some examples:

1. What the fuck?? (read as: How did that happen?): Digimon World: When my digimon first digivolved into Sukamon (http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20090513043830/mar/images/1/17/Sukamon.gif).

2. What the fuck? (read as: Well that was disappointing): Pokemon Blue: First time receiving the reward for completing the pokedex.

3. What the fuck?! (read as: Wow I did not see that coming):

Finding out that Ovan was the one who made the triangle markings and the one who PK-ed Shino.

4. WHAT. THE. FUCK. (read as: Wow I did not see that coming and I just shat my pants):

First time encountering a Tigrex (http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20090830191824/monsterhunter/images/9/9b/MHF2Tigrex.jpg). Note that it was in one of the first missions ever and the description was just to pick some herbs.

Another nice example.

Aladdin for gameboy. I started to jump on the first camel... and ... it... spits out... knives. Seriously, I might have shouted WTF out loud.

2 come to mind. The first is the laughing scene in FFX. I was like.... wtf! this game was supposed to be good!
The 2nd is the orphanage truth scene in FFVIII. I was like.... wtf! I hate this story now, thats ridiculous grrrrrrrr.

I actually liked the reapers being part of a cycle and all, but the starchild seemed like a last minute mock up of a story telling device.The man vs machine setting is actually an allegory of life vs death. Reapers (machines) come to end your cycle (life) so that the young may flourish. The reapers aren't really the bad guys, there is no bad guy. It's just a living being's will to live against the inevitability of death.

I always liked the idea of synthesis a lot. Where every living being eventually joins to form one single 'being', which is why I loved the H.I.P in Evangelion. Too bad they destroyed that with a stupid psycho analysis of a gay teenager who masturbates to vegetables.

The guards in assassins creed II there where two guards in 1.... Also the some guards decided to just end there lives and jump in the water for no reason what so ever. That makes me sad. I'm the one to kill them. :'(

All three Xenosaga games. The ENTIRE games. All of it. Nonstop WTF-ery.
Same thing goes for Legacy of Kain too.

Also, the later portions of Xenoblade, ESPECIALLY the ending.
During the whole last third of the game, every cutscene felt like it was punching my brain with awesome and crazy and crazy awesome.

Except the ending. I hated the ending.
Especially how Fiora magically got her body back with no explanation, because TEE HEE I LOVE YOU SHULK. Hate so much.
Not that it wasn't expected, it was just way too... UGH.

Also, the big "plot twist" in Star Ocean 3.

Ohey, somebody else that played Xenoblade! Awesome!

But yeah, the whole haunted mansion chapter of The Last Story was one big wtf for me. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to take that seriously but it was just too silly. And from what I remember the game was actually kind of serious.

The ending to Mario and Luigi Dream Team was also a big "What the fuck, I never saw that coming!"

We all should play together sometime. Sadly I won't be much use on difficulties higher than normal because of how sub 60 fps fucks with my aim and not to mention lag because I'm not from Europe.

Oh, well... L4D 2 has something different with my laptop. The loading takes literally 2 minutes.
