Well since there are only 842 pages and since I was only gonna quote the first and I consider the top and bottom 100 pages "Not random enough" so I say it'd be a 1:642-ish chance of happening.

I say ish because nothing is actually really random. Unless you're taking about stuff on a quantum level, now that's random.

We did a literary analysis on some of our local short stories. You know, cultural and/or sociological deconstruction of the story. Apparently, traditional poems repeatedly beat the traditional values into your head with exaggerated adjectives and metaphors about nature, whereas a modernist poems reassesses those values by shedding light to the good and bad side of those values using, yet again, metaphors then ends the poem by elaborating the ambiguity of that value using words that have double-meanings. The main point of modernist poems is to induce a self-assessment of the reader whether or not that particular traditional value is good or bad.
 
... Holy shit. This is why people complain about ambiguous endings being bad. It presents them the idea that the value they like or despise could be the complete opposite of their opinion. What they don't know is that they're being played right into the narrator/writer/poet's hands. FUCK, NO WONDER GAMES WITH SHITTY ENDINGS GET UNBELIEVABLE SCORES!

... Or maybe they just have shitty writing and the reviewers are over thinking crap.

yeah we did a similar practical analysis in my psychology class, it's interesting to see how easily we are molded into the perfect citizen without us even knowing. Most of that is done during childhood though.

however in regards to the reviewer thing, pretty much the reason why I never trust reviews. Reviewers are just one person, easily swayed just like any other, too much bias even when they try to avoid bias. I need consensus, not just one persons opinion.
