I didn't start yet. Why don't you head on over to their website (http://pokemonium.com) and get started?
The client is about 60MB.

My thoughts: The game is heavily bugged, yet very promising. A game like this was my dream ever since I really got into pokemon.
Oh, and did I say that you can travel in 4 different regions? (Only Kanto and Johto at the moment.)

Badass loading screen? Check.

Here's a gameplay video. I get a lot of lag and choppy sounds, just like this guy. I guess the servers are really bad or something.

Of course, I'm not playing but I'm keeping a close eye on its developement.
