I'm so confused.
Basically due to budget cuts they decided to "tell you" the event of Human Instrumentality without actually showing you it, or rather showing you the emotional and physiological implications of this event on the cast. So it does come off as a bit garbled and confusing.

You need to watch the movie "End of Evangelion", its basically the last two episodes but told in a more clearer way.

if you enjoyed the series you should at some point watch the Rebuild of Evangelion movies, the third one came out not too long ago and I'm currently waiting for a subbed version. Oh oh oh....and Kaworu-kun, my love for him is undying T_T

Yeah, the torrent I got had the rebuild movies and the end of evangelion one too, I plan on watching them.
And even though Kaworu only appeared in a single episode of the anime, he was somehow one of the best characters. o-o
Oh, Powy have you played the N64 evangelion game? It seems pretty decent.
