You can find guitar+amp combos for as low as 99$, but I strongly suggest you get that one(No other guitar package matches its quality). Having a bad guitar will demotivate you from playing more. Plus that guitar's really decent, so if you ever get half-serious about it, all you have to do is buy a new amp!

Epiphone and Squier are all that comes to my mind :\

Ibanez and Yamaha are pretty good from their mid range selection onward; low end is shit.

I think the monkey lord could help you loads more that I ever could on this one.

Also, I'd suggest going to a store rather than buying it online. Tell them you're an absolute beginner and you should be alright.
