because they need to go to such a big event of over-inflated egos in order to satisfy their own. It's a place of vanity, its clear as day to see.
Sure, you can go their to get some free drinks (unless you have to pay for admission) and have a good time with friends, but if not then there isn't much point, waste of time.

people normally come up with the point "but you'll never get the opportunity to do it again" but my answer to that is this: a gathering of lots of people you know, dressed up nicely and getting drunk as shit......yeah, like that's never gonna happen again during the teenage to mid twenty years. Just because it has the self-imposed title of "prom" doesn't make it any more special.

Yeah because getting drunk... Not too difficult. Get some friends over on halloween change into halloween costumes and get drunk.
It's better then going to a stupid prom and trying to get all nice and fancy and shit..

Heres the main reasons I chose staying home and playing Warcraft over going to prom:
1. no prom date
2. cant dance to save my life
3. guaranteed shit tier music
4. expensive; fun factor doesn't out weigh expenses

When I am on stage acting, that's different. Then I can entertain. But yeah.
