What do you guys think about that?

I highly doubt Cloud or anyone from the FF franchise will make an appearance. I think they are trying to make a point by using this game, that Sony has had better games under its title than FF, because JRPG's is pretty much what made the playstation great.

My only real problem with the current roster is that they are using the new character design for Dante, instead of his classic.

Apparently, Superbot or Sony or someone announced there will be a Final Fantasy character, and will be announced pretty soon.

+1 on Dante's design, but that's not what pissed me off the most in the new DMC. It's Vergil's new design.

You're looking at it from a financial standpoint, in popular culture Sony/Playstation is most known for and associated with Final Fantasy and that is almost indisputable. Whenever there is a survey for the most popular gaming icons, more often than not a FF character will be somewhere near the top and mostly beating all other Sony mascots/characters.

So yeah.

That's if they even allow a Final Fantasy figure on that game, I don't think they will. But I can imagine there will be a lot of pissed of FF7 fans asking where Cloud is.

Some people are asking for Sora, but I highly doubt it. Since we're on the subject, I think Snake will make an appearance, even if minor, as David Hayter seemed to be working on the project; I am also disappointed that they're using Raiden's Revengeance appearance instead of his Metal Gear Solid 2 or Metal Gear Solid 4 ones.

On that note, I didn't like what I've seen from Metal Gear Rising so far, so if the story's not good, there's a good chance I'll just pretend it didn't happen. And judging by the lack of Tactical Espionage Action, I won't be buying it...

I think whatever Rising turns out to be, it'll be a good thing. It goes to show that Kojima isn't just milking the series, he is exploring new ways to deliver the story and experimenting with different engines. I'm confident that the story will hold water, I don't see it being simplistic or dull.
The gameplay however, so far its been well received even in its early stages. But some fans are bound to dislike it due to the drastic change, but I think we should just be happy that things are being shaken up instead of sticking with the same formula and not taking risks.

Sony announces the new Super Slim PS3. It looks a lot similar to the PS2 Slim, but has a curved top like the PS3.

It's going to be costlier than the PS3 Slim though. AFAIK it only comes in bundles for the time being (Bundled with a copy of Uncharted 3 GOTY Edition + DLC for a game called 'Dust 514'.) and in October, it comes in a new bundle packed with AC3.

I've just started watching Resident Evil: Retribution.......I've held faith in the movie series until now, its normally always been about action over story....but the f**king story makes 0% sense, no literally! It makes no sense whatsoever, its like they have just forgotten about all the points they've been establishing throughout the movie series and then thought to themselves "You know what, actually sticking to the story we have is getting boring, lets just throw in some zombies (of two conflicting varieties) and a few humans and just make this as generic as possible". I'm glad I downloaded this, no way I would pay to see it.

Popular culture is debatable, full of opinion, bias and so on. Numbers and trends tell a better story IMO.
