Confession: I never used 3D on my friend's 3DS, so I don't really care about the lack of 3D on the 2DS...
But the fact that it doesn't close to be more portable sucks. :/

I bet that announcement broke world record of most people saying "WAT" simultaneously.

CEO: Okay men, we need a 2D portable system to launch a 2D version of Pokemon X and Y. Any ideas?

Reasonable Employee: Uhhh, don't we already have one, sir?

CEO: I don't recall any being made...

Reasonable Employee: The...Nintendo DS, sir?

CEO: Not ringing any bells

Reasonable Employee: Nintendo DS Lite?

CEO: Nope, Nadda.

The biggest issue is that people react to it like if it's meant for everybody while it's actually meant for those who either don't care about the 3D, have eyes that still are developing or want a cheaper version.

Nope. Digital release only.
Although... it is scheduled for Q4 so between now and then there might be some changes if the fans scream hard enough.

I'm actually surprised that it's 10 dollars cheaper than a regular boxed game, because this was a game intended for the retail market. .-.

I'd definitely go for Pokemon. It's gonna be a worldwide release so everybody's gonna start playing it knowing the same thing and I would never wanna miss that! Finding out about all the new pokemon in-game is gonna be awesome!
